http://AustrianPoppyPods.com sells dried Papaver rhoeas field poppy pods from our farm in Lower Austria. Due to the nature of dried botanical products and international plant laws, our return policy differs from standard retail.

  1. General Return Rules

14-Day EU Cooling-Off Period: Under EU consumer law, you have 14 days from delivery to notify us of cancellation for unopened products shipped within the EU. However, this right does not apply once you open the packaging of dried flowers per Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, as goods liable to deteriorate rapidly.

Opened products cannot be returned due to:

  1. Hygiene/biosecurity: We cannot resell returned dried plant material
  2. Customs law: Many countries prohibit re-import of returned plant products but we do have a way of handling the customs
  3. Product integrity: Dried pods are fragile and cannot be guaranteed after return shipping

    Normal characteristics NOT eligible for return:
    Broken stems or poppy heads, size variation 3-5cm, color differences from beige to taupe, natural dust, light seed shake. These are inherent to dried Papaver rhoeas.
  5. What We CANNOT Accept Returns For
  6. Change of mind after opening the package
  7. Orders shipped outside EU’once they leave Austria, due to phytosanitary laws. Non-EU returns may be destroyed by authorities.
  8. Product not as described you expect_Papaver somniferum_. We sell Papaver rhoeas. Species is clearly stated on every product page.
  9. How to Request a Return/Replacement
  10. Email: austrianpoppypods@gmail.com within the time limits above
  11. Subject line: `Return Request – Order #[Your Order Number]’
  12. Include: Order number, photos of issue, explanation
  13. Wait for approval: Do NOT ship anything back until we reply with an RMA number. Unauthorized returns will be refused.

Return shipping: If we approve a return, we’ll send a prepaid DHL label for EU customers only. Non-EU customers pay return shipping. If customs destroys the return, no refund is issued.

  1. Refund Process
    Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5-10 business days of receiving the return.
  • Apple Pay/Card*: 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfer*: 3-5 business days
  • Crypto: Not offered due to volatility + no chargeback ability

Partial refunds: May be issued if only part of order is damaged.

  1. Cancellations
    You may cancel an unshipped order for full refund by emailing within 2 hours of payment. Once your order status shows “Processing”, it cannot be cancelled as we pack same-day.

    We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order we deem high-risk, including:
  3. Shipping to regions where Papaver species are restricted
  4. Suspicious order notes mentioning consumption, tea, or somniferum
  5. Multiple failed delivery attempts
  6. Legal Jurisdiction
